A Quick History of the Building

The museum was actually Marley’s house where he lived and recorded music for the last six years of his life. It’s a wooden house designed and constructed on the lines of colonial-era aesthetics. The creakiness of the place gives it an elusive authenticity. The place is now many things: a tourist attraction, a museum, and a memorial.

What Are Your Going to Find There?

The trip to Bob Marley Museum is not like your regular boring and exhausting museum excursions. It usually ends up within an hour in which you get so occupied by the information and artifacts about the reggae great that you don’t get bored for a minute.

Vinyl Records to Rastafarian Cloaks

The museum welcomes you with Bob Marley’s gold and platinum vinyl records that are hanging on the walls. Seeing these rare and original records in today’s digital revolution will take you back in time for a couple of minutes.

Apart from those classical records, you are able to see the Rastafarian cloaks that Marley donned. It is important to mention here that Rastafari is a religious movement where marijuana is an integral part of sacred rituals.  One of the Marley’ favorite denim shirts that he wore at many of his concerts was also part of the wall hangings in this section.

A Replica of Marley’s Original Record Shop

One corner of the museum has the replica of Marley’s original record shop that he used to run during the 60s and 70s.

The Bedroom

Marley’s bedroom has been preserved as it was left by the legend. The room has his simple bed with his signature star-shaped guitar on one of its sides. The sight of the bedroom makes for a somber moment.

Recording Studio

The recording studio has been transformed into an exhibition hall where you can see a lot of interesting and exclusive pictures of different tours. At the end of the tour, you get to watch a short film on the life of the reggae legend.

At the back of the museum, you get to see the spot from where a dissenter attempted to assassinate him in 1976.
